ClearSky Health is a premier rehabilitative healthcare provider that currently owns and operates inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, with plans to open new facilities in Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Ohio, Wisconsin, and additional Texas locations in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Baytown will be ClearSky Health\u2019s 6th hospital site in Texas. It will provide specialized rehabilitative services to patients living with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson\u2019s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions such as COVID-19. The hospital will treat about 650 patients annually.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe chose the Baytown location with the support of community and medical leadership, including the Baytown-West Chamber County Economic Development Foundation,\u201d says Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health. \u201cWe plan to fulfill an unmet need for specialized rehabilitative care in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Brockette says ClearSky Baytown will set itself apart from other rehabilitation programs through its highly trained team, specialized equipment, and dedicated facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur staff will go above and beyond normal service expectations,\u201d he says. \u201cThey will even support our patients after they\u2019re discharged from the hospital to ensure they get the resources they need for their continued healing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>As a medical rehabilitation hospital, ClearSky Baytown will differ from other rehabilitation programs because it will: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Be licensed and accredited<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Use an interdisciplinary team approach to care<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Have a physician with specialized training in rehabilitation supervise medical services<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Provide rehabilitative nursing 24\/7<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Offer patients therapy for a minimum of 15 hours a week<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A national study shows additional benefits of medical rehabilitation hospitals include allowing patients to return home sooner, remain home longer, have fewer hospital readmissions and ER visits, and live longer versus those treated at nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cClearSky Health will be a welcome addition to the area\u2019s existing healthcare cluster,\u201d says B.J. Simon, President\/CEO, Baytown-West Chamber County Economic Development Foundation. \u201cOur residents will benefit from ClearSky Health\u2019s proximity and provision of high-quality rehabilitative care without experiencing the hardships typically and routinely encountered when traveling for treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Patients who are treated at ClearSky Baytown will interact and set individual goals with an interdisciplinary team that includes a physician; rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, and speech therapists; case managers; respiratory therapists; dietitians; and other healthcare professionals. The new 40,000-square-foot building will feature all private rooms, a rehabilitative gym with specialized equipment, a dining room with a dedicated chef and food service staff, and an activity of daily living space to allow patients to receive therapy in rooms that emulate home conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur expertise and knowledge allow us to provide the highest standards of care to patients,\u201d Brockette says. He cites the hospital\u2019s comprehensive stroke rehabilitation program as an example. The program includes review of 228 evidence-based recommendations from the American Stroke Association.
