ClearSky Health Breaks Ground for Medical Rehabilitation Hospital in Lancaster, Ohio
ClearSky Health, a premier rehabilitative healthcare provider, broke ground today for a new medical rehabilitation hospital in Lancaster, Ohio. ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lancaster will be a 36-bed facility and is expected to open in Summer 2024 at 1201 River Valley Blvd.
At the groundbreaking, Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health, explained that the hospital will differ from other rehabilitation programs because it will be a licensed, acute care hospital. Patients will stay an average of 10-14 days following injuries or illnesses like strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions such as COVID-19.
“You’re blessed to already have such quality care here in Lancaster,” Brockette said. “And I promise you that we’ll join the community to do our share and serve you high-quality, specialized care. The philosophy within our organization is to provide services to smaller towns so that patients can stay closer to their families and friends. We believe this helps in the healing process.”
Brockette continued, saying that 80 percent of patients treated at ClearSky Health hospitals return to their homes following treatment. “Our goal is to get people back to independence so they can return to what they enjoy doing and avoid further hospital visits,” Darby said.
David Scheffler, Mayor of Lancaster, also provided remarks at the groundbreaking and said that the city is committed to providing exceptional healthcare and is celebrating bringing an organization the caliber of ClearSky Health to the area.
“We welcome the $30 million investment and 100 plus jobs that ClearSky Health is bringing to Lancaster to provide advanced rehabilitative treatment close to home,” Scheffler said. “The hospital will provide a quality of life enhancement, especially for our senior population, and help reduce emotional and financial stress like that associated with traveling, taking time off from work, or staying overnight in another town while a loved one receives care elsewhere.”
Scheffler added that the new hospital will complement the acute services provided by Fairfield Medical Center. “We thank the ClearSky Health team for choosing Lancaster,” he said. “Having this advanced, comprehensive rehabilitative treatment close to home is truly a benefit for our community.”
ClearSky Health owns and operates 10 hospitals in Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, with six more in planning stages across the nation, to include additional hospitals in Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, and Ohio.
