Larry Niemann has been named Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Avondale. The 30-bed medical rehabilitation hospital, which is located in Avondale, Ariz., is scheduled to open in Spring 2023. It will treat patients with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions such as COVID-19.
Niemann brings 30 years of healthcare experience to the hospital, with more than 25 of those in leadership positions in operations, strategic planning, and business development. Prior to this role, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Rehabilitation for various medical rehabilitation hospitals in Arizona and Nebraska, where he developed strategic initiatives to increase growth and revenue, enhance quality, and improve operations. He also has served as Chief Operating Officer of acute care hospitals in Nebraska where he oversaw the day-to-day operational responsibilities including physician relations, budget performance, staffing, quality assurance, operational excellence, and strategic growth.

Niemann is a member of numerous community and professional organizations, including the Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona, Arizona Healthcare Executives, and the Arizona Burn Foundation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science and psychology from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb., and a master’s degree in healthcare innovation from Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.
