Stroke Rehabilitation

Recovering from a Stroke

If you’ve experienced a stroke, we can help you gain back your capabilities and independence.

A national study has shown that stroke patients treated at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital – like ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Weatherford – return home sooner, remain home longer, have fewer hospital readmissions and ER visits, and live longer.

In addition, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association released guidelines that strongly recommend stroke patients receive rehabilitative care at inpatient rehabilitation hospitals following their initial hospital stays versus nursing homes.

Our physician-led, multidisciplinary healthcare team customizes a treatment plan with you and your family based upon your individual goals, motivations, and abilities. We question, challenge, and strive to get better results for you during the course of your recovery, helping you to improve:

  • Speech and language issues
  • Swallowing difficulties
  • Mobility
  • Balance and strength
  • Motor skills
  • Thinking and reasoning abilities
  • Sensory issues
  • Bladder and bowel control
  • Safety awareness

Upon discharge, we help arrange further resources as needed, such as follow-up physician appointments, outpatient therapy, or home health. We supply you and your family with educational information on continued exercises, behavior modifications, home modifications, and assistive devices, if necessary.

Our goal is to help you return home with as much cognitive and physical independence as possible.
