Leek Named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Waxahachie

Dr. Dustin Leek has been named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Waxahachie.

ClearSky Waxahachie is a new 30-bed medical rehabilitation hospital that will open this August. The hospital will treat patients with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions like COVID-19. ClearSky Waxahachie is the satellite facility of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Mansfield.

Leek will lead the hospital’s interdisciplinary healthcare team, which will provide patient services that include physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; case management; respiratory therapy; dietary services; and other specialized care.

Leek is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with a subspecialty certification in pain medicine. Prior to this role, Leek has held various medical leadership roles within other rehabilitation facilities, including being the founder and medical director of a pain management practice. He also serves as a physician expert witness and consultant.

“It’s rewarding to be part of a team to bring specialized rehabilitative care to the Waxahachie area,” Leek says “Now patients won’t have to leave the community to receive this higher level of post-acute care. We’ll provide treatments that will maximize patients’ recoveries so they can regain independence and quality of life.”

Leek earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, and a medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, Calif. He completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation and a fellowship in pain management at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
