ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Waxahachie Earns Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification

Recognized for providing high-quality, evidence-based stroke rehabilitation

ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Waxahachie has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Stroke Rehabilitation Certification, a nationally recognized symbol of quality that reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality, evidence-based stroke rehabilitation.

The certification was awarded following a rigorous on-site review by a Joint Commission surveyor, who evaluated the hospital’s compliance with national standards for stroke rehabilitation. The review assessed the hospital’s patient care processes, interdisciplinary approach to treatment, use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, performance improvement efforts, and commitment to helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes following a stroke.

“We’re honored to have earned The Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification,” says Kelly Bailey, Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Waxahachie. “This achievement reflects the strength of our interdisciplinary healthcare team and the passion they bring to caring for patients recovering from strokes. We measure our success by the progress our patients make through getting stronger, returning home, and becoming more independent in their daily lives.”

The certification is part of The Joint Commission’s voluntary Disease-Specific Care Certification program, which recognizes organizations that meet rigorous standards for delivering specialized, evidence-based care. Certification requirements focus on:

  • Compliance with national standards.
  • Use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
  • Ongoing performance measurement and continuous quality improvement.

Organizations earning certification demonstrate their commitment to improving patient outcomes through standardized, high-quality care and continuous performance improvement.

“Stroke recovery is about much more than regaining physical abilities. It’s about helping patients rediscover confidence and independence,” says Dr. Dustin Leek, Medical Director of ClearSky Waxahachie. “Our clinicians and support team are committed to being there for patients at every stage of that journey. The Joint Commission’s certification is an important recognition of our efforts and reinforces our commitment to providing outstanding rehabilitative care.”

ClearSky Waxahachie is a 30-bed medical rehabilitation hospital that provides specialized inpatient rehabilitation services to patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions.
