Participants in one group avoided screen time (phones, computers, television) and schoolwork for 48 hours immediately following the concussion. Participants in the second group could use screens as long as new symptoms didn\u2019t arise.<\/p>\n<p>The patients completed a post-concussion symptom scale (PCSS) upon initial diagnosis and then every day after for 10 days. The PCSS is a self-reported measure of the severity of symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the study, data showed that it took a significantly longer time for participants in the screen-watching group to recover.
