ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Kenosha Earns Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification
Recognized for providing high-quality, evidence-based stroke rehabilitation
ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Kenosha has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Stroke Rehabilitation Certification, a nationally recognized symbol of quality that reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality, evidence-based stroke rehabilitation.
ClearSky Kenosha is the first medical rehabilitation hospital in eastern Wisconsin to earn this recognition.
The certification was awarded following a rigorous on-site review by a Joint Commission surveyor, who evaluated the hospital’s compliance with national standards for stroke rehabilitation. The review assessed the hospital’s patient care processes, interdisciplinary approach to treatment, use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, performance improvement efforts, and commitment to helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes following a stroke.
“Earning The Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification is a tremendous accomplishment for our entire team,” says Josh Luke, Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Kenosha. “It reflects the expertise, collaboration, and passion that our physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff bring to our patients every day. We’re committed to delivering care that provides quicker recovery times, more discharges home, and more physical and cognitive independence.”
The certification is part of The Joint Commission’s voluntary Disease-Specific Care Certification program, which recognizes organizations that meet rigorous standards for delivering specialized, evidence-based care. Certification requirements focus on:
- Compliance with national standards.
- Use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
- Ongoing performance measurement and continuous quality improvement.
Organizations earning certification demonstrate their commitment to improving patient outcomes through standardized, high-quality care and continuous performance improvement.
“A stroke can change a person’s life instantly, but it doesn’t have to define their future,” says Dr. Gerald Nora, Medical Director of ClearSky Kenosha. “Every member of our team is dedicated to helping patients regain strength, confidence, and independence throughout the recovery process. This certification recognizes the quality of care we’re providing today and inspires us to continue raising the standard of stroke rehabilitation in our community.”
ClearSky Kenosha is a 39-bed medical rehabilitation hospital that provides specialized inpatient rehabilitation services to patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions.
