ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lecanto Earns Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification

Recognized for providing high-quality, evidence-based stroke rehabilitation

ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lecanto has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Stroke Rehabilitation Certification, a nationally recognized symbol of quality that reflects the hospital’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality, evidence-based stroke rehabilitation.

The certification was awarded following a rigorous on-site review by a Joint Commission surveyor, who evaluated the hospital’s compliance with national standards for stroke rehabilitation. The review assessed the hospital’s patient care processes, interdisciplinary approach to treatment, use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, performance improvement efforts, and commitment to helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes following a stroke.

“Achieving The Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification is an incredible milestone for our team,” says Glenn Piche, Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Lecanto. “This recognition highlights the knowledge, teamwork, and dedication our physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff demonstrate every day. Most importantly, it reinforces our commitment to helping patients recover faster, return home sooner, and regain greater physical and cognitive independence.”

The certification is part of The Joint Commission’s voluntary Disease-Specific Care Certification program, which recognizes organizations that meet rigorous standards for delivering specialized, evidence-based care. Certification requirements focus on:

  • Compliance with national standards.
  • Use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
  • Ongoing performance measurement and continuous quality improvement.

Organizations earning the certification demonstrate their commitment to improving patient outcomes through standardized, high-quality care and continuous performance improvement.

“A stroke can be a life-altering event, but recovery can open the door to a new chapter,” says Dr. Suhas Kulkarni, Medical Director of ClearSky Lecanto. “Our team is committed to helping each patient rebuild strength, confidence, and independence along the way. This certification is a reflection of the high-quality care we provide and our ongoing commitment to advancing stroke rehabilitation in our community.”

ClearSky Lecanto is a 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital that provides specialized inpatient rehabilitation services to patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions.
