Kulkarni Named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lecanto

Dr. Suhas Kulkarni has been named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lecanto. The 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital treats patients with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically complex conditions like COVID-19.

Board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Kulkarni most recently served as the medical director at a spine and rehabilitation facility in Spring Hill, Fla where he provided consultations for musculoskeletal injuries, neck/back pains, muscle/joint pains, sport injuries, strokes, and other chronic conditions. He also has worked at several medical rehabilitation and nursing care facilities in Brooksville, Zephyrhills, and Plant City, Fla.

In his role at ClearSky Lecanto, Kulkarni will lead the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing patient services that include physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; case management; respiratory therapy; dietary services; and other specialized care.

“It’s a privilege to work with the hospital’s healthcare team to provide a specialized level of rehabilitative care to our patients,” Kulkarni says. “Our goal is to work together with patients and their families to maximize recoveries so they can regain independence and return to everyday activities they enjoy.”

Kulkarni earned a medical degree from Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College in Gulbarga, Karnataka, India. He completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Barnes-Jewish Hospital – Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He also finished two years of an internal medicine residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

Kulkarni is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also is a certified worker’s compensation provider in the state of Florida.
