Dr. Luis S. Vilella has been named Associate Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rio Rancho

With specialized training and experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Vilella has been practicing medicine for more than 15 years. He most recently served as the medical director of a rehabilitation hospital in North Dakota.

Dr. Vilella earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, and a medical degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed a surgery internship at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. He also completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, Va. Dr. Vilella earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management in Amherst, Mass.

Dr. Vilella is member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and the American Medical Association, and is proficient in both English and Spanish.
