Todd Sandberg has been named Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Elwood-St. Joseph. The medical rehabilitation hospital treats patients with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions such as COVID-19.
Sandberg brings extensive experience to his position, having spent the last 15 years in executive healthcare leadership roles, including serving as CEO at two acute care hospitals in Minnesota and at a medical rehabilitation hospital in Wyoming. He also has led rehabilitation programs in Illinois, Arkansas, and Minnesota.
“Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with adult populations that benefited from specialized rehabilitative care,” Sandberg says. “It’s an honor to now lead the team at ClearSky Elwood-St. Joseph as they continue to provide this higher level of specialized care to the community. It’s truly a blessing to serve patients who come to our facility following strokes or other disabling injuries who are unable to walk, talk, or dress themselves, then leave with a new hope of recovery as they discharge to their homes.”
Sandberg earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology with a cardiac rehabilitation emphasis from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. He earned a master’s in cardiac rehabilitation and exercise science from East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa., and a master’s of business administration in healthcare management from Regis University in Denver, Colo.
