Dr. Alexander Morales has been named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Avondale. The medical rehabilitation hospital serves patients with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions like COVID-19.
A doctor of osteopathic medicine, Morales most recently served as an attending physician at a medical rehabilitation hospital in Glendale, Ariz. He also has worked at a medical rehabilitation hospital in Phoenix and at urgent care centers in West Palm Beach, Fla. In his role at ClearSky Avondale, Morales will lead the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing patient services that include physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; case management; respiratory therapy; dietary services; and other specialized care.
“I’m looking forward to working with the hospital’s healthcare team to provide a higher level of specialized rehabilitation to our patients,” Morales says. “Our goal is to work together with patients and their families to maximize recoveries so they can return home quickly with independence to the activities that they enjoy.”
Morales earned a bachelor’s degree in human psychology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., and a doctorate of osteopathic medicine at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Glendale, Ariz. He completed an osteopathic internship and residency at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Fla., where he earned Intern of the Year. He is a member of the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Osteopathic Association.
