Dr. Lanah Koh has been named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rockwall County. The new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital recently opened in Heath, Texas, and treats individuals recovering from debilitating illnesses or injuries such as strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, hip fractures, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions.
Koh is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who brings extensive academic, clinical, and leadership experience to her role. Most recently, she served as the associate medical director and as an attending physician at a rehabilitation hospital in Prosper, Texas, where she provided medical rehabilitative care for patients.
In her new role, Koh will oversee ClearSky Rockwall County’s interdisciplinary healthcare team, managing services such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; case management; respiratory therapy; dietary services; and other specialized rehabilitative programs.
“I’m honored to lead this exceptional team and help shape ClearSky Rockwall County into a center of excellence for rehabilitation,” Koh says. “Our goal is to partner closely with patients and their families to maximize recovery and help individuals return to meaningful, independent lives.”
Koh earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology with a neurobiology emphasis from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York, N.Y., and completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where she served as chief resident. Her postgraduate training also includes internships in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Queens, N.Y., and in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.
