Dr. Yvette Little recently was named Medical Director of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lake City. The new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital is scheduled to open this September in Lake City, Fla., and will treat patients with disabling injuries or illnesses caused by strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions.
Little is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who brings extensive academic and clinical experience to the hospital. Most recently, she served as an academic physiatrist at the University of Florida, where she spearheaded the development of a high-volume inpatient rehabilitation consult service within an academic medical center. She co-managed neurological and functional deficits alongside primary teams for patients with brain and spinal cord injuries, optimized recovery planning, and implemented documentation protocols.
In her current role, Little will lead ClearSky Lake City’s interdisciplinary healthcare team, overseeing services such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; case management; respiratory therapy; dietary services; and other specialized care.
“I’m excited to help establish ClearSky Lake City as a trusted resource for specialized rehabilitative care in our community,” Little says. “By working together with our patients, their families, and our dedicated team, we can achieve the best possible outcomes and help individuals return to the activities and lifestyles they value most.”
Little earned a bachelor’s degree in health science and rehabilitative services from the University of Florida, a post-baccalaureate degree from Florida International University, and a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Fla. She currently is a core faculty member in the University of Florida’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department.
