ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Mansfield has named Dr. Kurt Voss as its new Medical Director. The medical rehabilitation hospital provides specialized rehabilitation to patients recovering from disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions.
Voss is a board-certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, bringing more than 25 years of experience to ClearSky Mansfield. Most recently, he served as the medical director of the Baylor All Saints inpatient rehabilitation unit as well as the Carter Rehabilitation and Fitness Center in Fort Worth, Texas, where he provided care that included inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, wellness, and therapy services. He has led other pain management and rehabilitation facilities, and has served as an academic instructor for the Baylor University Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program and the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan.
In his current role, Voss will lead the hospital’s interdisciplinary healthcare team, overseeing services such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; case management; respiratory therapy; dietary services; and other specialized care.
“It’s a privilege to work with the hospital’s excellent healthcare team to provide a specialized level of rehabilitative care to our patients,” Voss says. “Our goal is to work together with patients and their families to maximize recoveries so they can regain independence and return to everyday activities they enjoy.”
Voss earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. He then earned a master’s in exercise physiology from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, also in Fort Worth, Texas. He completed an osteopathic internship at the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
