ClearSky Health, a premier rehabilitative healthcare provider, today announced it will build a new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital in Beloit, Wis, that will serve residents of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. It will be the organization’s fourth hospital planned for the state.
The facility will provide specialized rehabilitative care to patients recovering from disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions. With a planned location on about 10 acres near 1800 E. Inman Parkway, it is expected to treat more than 650 patients annually and bring about 100 new jobs to the area.
“Our goal is to improve quality of life for individuals who live in the region by addressing an unmet healthcare need,” says Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health. “This hospital will complement existing services by providing a continuum of care that supports each patient’s recovery. We’re focused on helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes so they can regain independence and return to the activities they enjoy.”
The hospital’s services will differ from other rehabilitative programs because of its highly trained team, specialized equipment, state-of-the-art facility, and integrative approach to patient care. The hospital will:
- Be licensed and accredited
- Use an interdisciplinary team approach to care
- Have a physician with specialized training in rehabilitation
- Provide rehabilitative nursing 24/7
- Offer physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy for a minimum of 15 hours a week
A national study shows individuals treated at medical rehabilitation hospitals return home sooner, remain home longer, have fewer hospital readmissions and ER visits, and live longer than those treated at nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities.
Brockette says that once the facility opens, patients will be able to remain close to their homes during recovery. “Receiving care close to home reduces logistical challenges, financial strain, and emotional stress for both patients and their families,” he says. “With the patient’s permission, we actively involve family members and caregivers throughout the recovery process. Their participation is valuable in helping to establish care goals and provide continued support after discharge.”
Patients will work with an interdisciplinary healthcare team that includes a physician; rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, and speech therapists; case managers; respiratory therapists; dietitians; and other healthcare professionals. The new 45,000-square-foot building will feature all private rooms, a rehabilitative gym with specialized equipment and one-on-one therapy, a dining room with a dedicated chef and food service staff, an activities of daily living space that emulates home environments, and an outdoor therapeutic courtyard with various walking terrains.
“Our team is committed to exceeding expectations and delivering the best possible outcomes for our patients,” says Michael Warrington, President of ClearSky Health “We appreciate the collaboration with local community and healthcare leaders that has helped make this project possible.”
“The Town of Beloit is committed to providing exceptional healthcare to its residents, so we’re pleased to welcome an organization the caliber of ClearSky Health to our area,” says John Malizio, Town Administrator. “ClearSky Health will complement and strengthen current healthcare services available in the area. We look forward to a long-term relationship that enhances quality of life across the region by expanding access to specialized care.”
Groundbreaking for the new hospital is expected to occur in Summer 2026, with the opening planned for late 2027.
