ClearSky Health is excited to announce the groundbreaking of its new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital, ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital Lakeshore, located in the Village of Cleveland, Wis. The hospital will provide specialized rehabilitative care to about 650 patients annually, offering services to individuals living with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other medically-complex conditions.
“Our passion lies in healing people and being an integral part of the community,” says Darby Brockette, Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Health. “We fell in love with this area and remain deeply committed to it. Patients typically stay with us for an average of 12 days, and we’re proud that 80 percent of our patients are able to go home, avoiding the need for a return visit to an acute care hospital. I can’t thank the Village of Cleveland enough. The city has been instrumental in helping us get here.”
The services offered at ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital Lakeshore will stand out from other rehabilitation programs in the area, providing a comprehensive level of care available exclusively through medical rehabilitation hospitals. Patients will receive individualized treatment from a physician-led interdisciplinary healthcare team that includes physical, occupational, and speech therapists; rehabilitative nurses; case managers; respiratory therapists; dietitians; and other healthcare professionals.
“I’m thrilled on so many levels for our community and neighboring areas,” says Jake Holzwart, President of the Village of Cleveland. “To have an organization like ClearSky Health bring such a high caliber of rehabilitative care to the Village of Cleveland is unparalleled. This hospital will significantly improve the lives of our residents. Being located between Manitowoc and Sheboygan means we can serve both communities, allowing patients and their families to stay close to home, thereby reducing both financial and emotional burdens. Beyond healthcare, we’re also excited about the job creation this hospital will bring – 100 new jobs across various roles. I want to extend my gratitude to ClearSky Health for choosing our community.
“The new facility will feature all private rooms, a rehabilitative gym with specialized equipment, an outside therapeutic courtyard, a dining room with a dedicated chef, and an activity of daily living space designed to simulate home environments. It is expected to open in Fall 2025.
