Vicki Claassen-Thompson has been named the new Director of Marketing and Business Development for ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Avondale. ClearSky Avondale is a 30-bed medical rehabilitation hospital that provides specialized rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or medically-complex conditions.
A registered nurse, Claassen-Thompson brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare sales and marketing to her role, previously serving as a director of business development for a post-acute healthcare provider. She has held various marketing and clinical positions at a long-term acute care hospital, a neurological center, and an acute care hospital.
In her current position, Claassen-Thompson will lead the hospital’s admissions department and coordinate marketing efforts to educate patients, families, and the community about the hospital’s services.
“My clinical knowledge is beneficial in helping me educate referral sources, patients, and the community about the advantages of specialized rehabilitative care,” Claassen-Thompson says. “It’s important for patients and families to understand the various levels of rehabilitation so they can choose the best care options available to them.”
Claassen-Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. She holds certifications in sales training and is involved in several professional organizations, including the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association.
